Introduction
If you have any trouble printing this guide, please use the attached PDF file.
- For all information and guides below, the type of Microsoft account that you have through Office 365 with Sundog is a “work or school account” when prompted to choose by Microsoft. Do not choose “Microsoft account”.
- If prompted to choose an account type during email setup, you may also have to specify that you are using an Office 365 or Exchange account, not Outlook or outlook.com.
- To access your account and most resources below, you will need to go to either:
- The https://www.office.com website and choose Sign In in the top-right corner
- OR
- Go directly to https://login.microsoftonline.com.
- The https://www.office.com website and choose Sign In in the top-right corner
- Your username will be your full email address.
If you run into trouble and need further assistance, Sundog is available to help at support@sundogit.com, or 815-991-2400.

- Once prompted, save the download file, then choose to run the file once downloaded.
- Once installed, you will likely be prompted to sign in to your Office 365 account.
- If you do not do this within 30 days, Office software may stop working until you sign in.
- For Outlook, you may also be prompted to set up an account once you open Outlook.
- In both cases, you should only need to know your username and password.
- Your username is your email address.
- Your password is the same one that you use to access that address.
- These instructions may change as Microsoft makes updates. If something is not quite right, an updated installation guide is available here.

Office Mobile Apps and Email Access
- Office 365 email setup varies a lot from phone to phone. Some default email apps may not play well with your Office 365 account.
- Sundog recommends that you download and install the free Outlook app from Microsoft so that you should only need to know 3 things:
- Your username – same as your full email address
- Your password – the one that allows access to the above address
- Your account type – Office 365 (Work or School Account)
- Download links:
- Outlook on Google Play Store
- Outlook on Apple’s App Store
- For any form of mail setup on your mobile device (Outlook app or otherwise):
- Most Office 365 accounts with email access should be able to access email from any mobile device.
- Many accounts will also be able to access mobile apps for things like Word documents and Excel Spreadsheets, though additional licensing may be needed.
